Prof. Dr. Hansel Burley
Professor of Public Administration,
School of Public Administration, University of New Mexico, USA
Dr. Hansel Burley has had a squiggly career path (see Tupper and Ellis, 2022) that spans nearly 40 years in education. He has been a high school English teacher, composition instructor, literature instructor, research analyst, assistant professor of curriculum and instruction, professor of educational psychology and now public administration, associate dean for undergraduates and teacher certification, associate dean for graduate education and research, associate dean for academics and data, and dean of a college of education. His first introduction to computers and teaching came in 1989, teaching writing in a computer laboratory. That experience inspired one of his first publications, where he posed the question: “Does the medium make the magic?” In 2000, at Texas Tech University (TTU), where he spent 25 years, he put a meta-analysis course online. Later, he served on a committee that brought WebCT and, later, Blackboard to TTU. He also set up a computer lab at Cavazos Junior High School and wired that technology magnet school for internet access and various learning software, including PLATO. His scholarly work includes 54 publications, one book, many conference presentations, and several grants. For the last 20 years, his teaching has focused on research methods, program evaluation, and statistics, especially meta-analysis. He has served as dissertation chair, committee member, or methodologist for 70 doctoral students. In the last phase of his career, Professor Burley is studying integrative learning and product-based pedagogy as essential to educational systems rapidly being reshaped by artificial intelligence.

Củ Chi One-Day City Tour Itinerary

The tour to Củ Chi Tunnels offers a valuable opportunity to learn about the tunnels’ strategic role in the Vietnam war. The historical site, located approximately 60 kilometers from the center of Ho Chi Minh City, is an extensive 250km underground network used by Vietnamese soldiers during the war. This is an ideal tour for those who pay interest in seeking an authentic connection to Vietnam’s past.
